18th Century Cocked Hat

Discovered a wonderful new Prussian resource: the Regiment von Itzenplitz website. This is a great place to find out more about Prussian uniforms and connect with some reinactors! I found this great cocked hat photo there!

Lewis is sooooooo anxious to begin wearing his costume now that the shirt is finished! So as a compromise, we decide to order some ready-made duck canvas breeches off the internet. I know, not exactly correct, but will at least get us started.

Add some cotton stockings from Burnley and Trowbridge

some modern dress shoes that will do for now.

The next item to create is the cocked hat.

I am not really prepared to spend $100+ on a felt hat at this point,

so we decide to wing it with a faux felt pirate hat from Party City with some trim and embellishments from Hobby Lobby.

and to complete the look, a long silk scarf and scarf pin.

Lewis seems okay with this for now!
